EIC Accelerator
Key Information
Switzerland and the EU are in the middle of negotiations on Switzerland's association to EU programmes for research and innovation. Switzerland aims for a rapid and full activation of the transitional arrangement 2025. This would give researchers and innovators in Switzerland the same access to the 2025 calls for proposals as associated countries (with the exception of calls in areas considered strategic by the EU such as quantum, space and high performance computing).
The submission of a short proposal (step 1) is possible without a transitional arrangement 2025. This means that Swiss stakeholders can submit these applications. The activation of the transitional arrangement should allow the submission of the full proposal in step 2 with a cut-off date of 12 March 2025.
Further information can be found in the Q&A on the SERI website. SERI will provide further information as soon as there is any news regarding access to these calls for proposals.
The EIC Accelerator is a bottom-up instrument and is therefore open to innovations in any field of technology or application. So-called EIC Accelerator Challenges will however focus on: Acceleration of advanced materials development and upscaling along the value chain, Biotechnology driven low emission food production systems, GenAI4EU: Creating European Champions in Generative AI, Innovative in-space servicing, operations, space-based robotics and technologies for resilient EU space infrastructure, and Breakthrough innovations for future mobility. The funding rate for all EIC Accelerator instruments is 70 %.
