EIC STEP Scale Up
The EIC (European Innovation Council) STEP (Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform) Scale Up is a funding instrument for empowering individual SMEs and small mid-caps to scale up breakthrough innovations built on strategic technologies. The objective is to enhance EU industrial competitiveness for a sustainable, competitive future. The support consists of an investment component only in the form of equity financing between EUR 10 - 30 million. Successful applicants have access to a range of Business Acceleration Services.

The EIC STEP Scale-up instrument is limited to a number of strategic technologies:
- Digital technologies, and deep tech innovations;
- Clean and resource efficient technologies, including net-zero technologies;
- Biotechnologies, including medicinal products on Union list of critical medicines.
