Key Information
As a non-EU country, Switzerland has to negotiate the association to Horizon Europe. Currently, Switzerland has the status of a non-associated third country. As a consequence funding in EIT programmes and in the EIT KICs are not guaranteed and Switzerland at present is not eligible for EC funding. Participants from Switzerland may receive funding from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation. For further information, please click here.
EIT Funding Opportunities
EIT Funding Opportunities can also be found on the funding and tender portal
The EIT addresses various areas of innovation and works through thematic networks, the so-called Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The 9 KICs - also called partnerships - tackle specific global challenges. They are Europe's largest innovation ecosystem and bring together more than 2900 partners from industry and academia. Within and across the KICs various funding programmes and calls are published. Funding rates vary.
Each KIC launches 3 types of calls:
1. Business Creation An EIT Business Creation Example
2. Innovation Projects An EIT Innovation Project Example
3. Entrepreneural Training Programmes
This comprehensive, compact EIT Guide on Innovation Activities illustrates the 3 types of calls and provides examples for all 9 KICs.
The EIT supports the development of dynamic, long-term thematic partnerships among companies, research and higher education institutions, to tackle pressing global challenges.
