The EIT is an independent body of the European Union set up in 2008 to deliver innovation across Europe. The EIT brings together leading business, education and research organisations to form dynamic cross-border partnerships.

Type of actions and funding rate:

The EIT addresses various areas of innovation and works through thematic networks, the so-called Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The 9 KICs - also called partnerships - tackle specific global challenges. They are Europe's largest innovation ecosystem and bring together more than 2900 partners from industry and academia. Within and across the KICs various funding programmes and calls are published. Funding rates vary.

Each KIC launches 3 types of calls:

2. Innovation Projects An EIT Innovation Project Example
3. Entrepreneural Training Programmes

These two comprehensive, compact EIT KICS Business Creation Guide and EIT KICS Innovation Guide illustrate the 3 types of calls and provides examples for all 9 KICs.
